Senator Anyim Pius Anyim attended Ishiagu High School (St. John Bosco), the Federal School of Arts and Science, Aba and later, Imo State University, Uturu (Now Abia State University) between 1983 and 1987 where he obtained a Bachelor of Law (LL.B). He bagged a Master of Laws (LL.M) from the University of Jos. Senator Anyim worked as the Head of Protection Department at the National Commission for Refugees, Abuja, a job that included provision of legal services and political protection for refugees. He joined the United Nigeria Congress Party (UNCP) in 1998 and won a Senate election. However, the death of General Sani Abacha on 8 June 1998 nullified Abacha’s Political Transition Programme. During the transitional regime of General Abdulsalami Abubakar, Anyim joined the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and again ran successfully for election into the Senate in 1999. In 2000, following the impeachment of Senator Chuba Okadigbo as Senate President, Anyim Pius Anyim was elected the Senate President of the 4th Senate, a position he held until May 2003. He was subsequently awarded a national honour of the Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON) by President Olusegun Obasanjo. As Senate President, Sen. Anyim stabilized a crisis-ridden and factionalized Senate. His tenure saw several key bills passed into law, including establishment Acts for the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Offences Commission (ICPC), Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC), among others. He rekindled public confidence and added integrity to the Nigerian legislature. Senator Anyim did not seek reelection in 2003, instead mobilized resources and support for ANPP candidates in Ebonyi State to challenge his party. Anyim was a candidate in the elections for Chairmanship of the PDP in January 2008.  Despite the massive following on his ambition, the Peoples Democratic Party appointed late Prince Vincent Ogbulafor as National Chairman. In January 2010, he led a delegation of 41 eminent Nigerians that called on President Umaru Yar'Adua to urgently transmit a letter of his incapacitation to the

His Excellency Dr. Okwesilieze is a member of the Nwodo political dynasty of Ukehe in Enugu State. He is the second son of Igwe John Nwodo, a traditional ruler who was the Minister of Commerce and later Local Government in the former Eastern Region under Premier Michael Okpara. Okwesilieze Nwodo studied medicine at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (1971–77). Between 1977 and 1980, he was a house officer at the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital in Enugu and at the Military Hospital in Jos. He continued his studies at the Royal College of Surgeons, London (1980) and the Belgrade Medical School, Yugoslavia (1980–84), and obtained an  MB.BS in Medicine and Surgery. He worked as a pediatric surgeon in Yugoslavia and then in Birmingham, England, before returning to Nigeria and taking a post as Medical Doctor at the Ukehe Medical Centre and Maternity (1984-1991). Dr. Nwodo was elected Governor of Enugu State in January 1992 on the National Republican Convention (NRC) platform during the Nigerian Third Republic. He held office until November 1993, when General Sani Abacha came to power in a military coup. He was twice elected Secretary General of People's Democratic Party (PDP) in 1999-2001 and was elected National Chairman of the People's Democratic Party in 2010. Dr. Okwesilieze Nwodo was in 2007 awarded a national honor, Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON), by President Shehu Yar'Adua, for his contributions to development of democracy in Nigeria. He is a thorough breed Igbo leader who has done much to promote his Igbo identity. He has spoken bluntly on a number of occasions on the marginalization and suppression of Ndigbo in Nigeria. He is the Chairman of the 20-man Ohanaeze Ndigbo Restructuring Committee set up to articulate a position for Ndigbo in the proposed restructuring of Nigeria. Dr. Nwodo has made and is making a number of investments in the South East Nigeria and is totally committed to the economic development and growth of South East Nigeria and in the creation of wealth and employment generation, east of the Niger.

High Chief Senator (Dr.) Ben Ndi Obi CON hails from Awka, the capital city of Anambra State. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and later a Master’s Degree in Philosophy from University of East London (UEL) , Stratford, England. He worked at the Ministry of Transport and Aviation as the Transport/Purchasing officer in the stores division and later as the Public Relations Manager in the Nigerian Technical Development Company (NTDC) Limited, Lagos. Senator Obi joined Dr. Tunji Braithwaite in 1978 to found the Nigeria Advanced Party (NAP). He was between 1991-1992 the Director General of Abubakar Olusola Saraki Campaign Organization. In 1998, he co-founded the All-Peoples Party (APP) under which he became the foundation National Secretary. Sen Obi joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2002 and was elected a Senator representing Anambra Central District in the Nigerian Senate in 2003. In 2006 he was deregistered from PDP alongside other big wigs of the Party which led them to forming the Action Congress. In 2007 Presidential Election, he was named the Vice-Presidential Candidate of the Party where he ran alongside former Vice President Atiku Abubakar who was nominated the AC Presidential Candidate. Sen Ben Obi in 2010 was appointed the Director General of Aliyu Gusua Campaign Organization and thereafter unanimously appointed Director General of the harmonized consensus campaign Organization of Ibrahim Babangida, Atiku Abubakar, Aliyu Gusau and Bukola Saraki. Under President Obasanjo, Ben Obi served as Political Adviser, Office of the National Security Adviser in the Presidency. He was also the Special Adviser to the President on Inter-Party Affairs under President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan and in 2011 conferred with the prestigious National Honors of the Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON). As a Senator of the Federal Republic, He was Chairman Senate Committee on Air Force. He was also a member in Senate Committee on Power and Steel, Foreign Affairs, Commerce, Finance and also a member of Committee on Integration and Cooperation in Africa. His major bills include:
